Envisioning the Technological Future

Envisioning the Technological Future of Harlem will focus on strategic visioning of technology’s role in advancing the economic growth and sustainability of upper Manhattan. The conference will also inform attendees about government, foundation and private corporate funding. We intend to leverage the intellectual capital of the Universities in the city, particularly Columbia University and City College both in Harlem, resulting in opportunities to collaborate on ideas on how we all can create jobs and programs for the community.

The Conference will host experts from the private sector and representatives from the public sector that come together to build on the idea of strengthening Harlem and its opportunity to fully realize the power of the growing Digital economy. Although there has been progress made in Broadband connectivity and adoption, we recognize that dense urban communities, still remain slower to fully transform to a innovation driven economy. This conference will guide the audience in co-envisioning a model to drive community-driven technological and economic development.
